Things To Do

As well as observing from the farm and surrounding areas the Delta del Ebro is made up of 32,000 hectares, the second largest marshland in Europe after the Carmargue in France. Most of the area is devoted to rice cultivation which is of huge importance for resting and feeding waders and herons. There are conservation areas with lagoons & reedbeds occupying a major part of the delta. Interesting sightings are Eiders, Scoters, Marganser, Marsh Harrier, Oystercatcher, colonies of Tern and Gull and big gatherings of Flamingo. We have binoculars and telescopes for hire.
Porta Aventura is a theme park with many exciting rides near the resort of Salou. Gandesa has a civil war museum and nearby a war destructed village left as a reminder of the atrocities of the civil war, the new village is adjacent, there is also an outstandingly well designed wine cathedral in modernistic style offering wines from Terra Alta. Cat and Carp fishing, canoeing and kayaking on the Ebro beyond Tortosa. Cycling on the green route (disused railway line) that follows the Ebro. Walking and trekking in Els Ports nature park. Eating plenty of fresh seafood and going to fiestas!
